On-Demand Webinar: Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)

Description of Webinar

WPS® ProLearn is proud to offer Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) as the first course within the three-part series titled The Behavior Playbook for School Psychologists. This session will equip educational professionals (school psychologists, psychologists, teachers, behavior specialists, and other professionals) with the skills to understand and complete school-based FBAs. Participants will be able to contextually describe when, how, and why challenging behavior occurs and operationally define it for data collection. A variety of data collection methods and tools will be reviewed, including their purpose, when the participant would use each one, and how to use them. Participants will learn about research-based functions of behavior and will identify each through data analysis of the case examples presented. At the end of the session, participants will be able to articulate the results of an FBA through a summary statement and competing behavior pathway. Lastly, this session will provide access to an online tool kit containing strategies and resources for immediate use.

The Behavior Playbook for School Psychologists is a three-part webinar series designed to prepare practitioners to work with challenging behavior. Throughout the series, practitioners will learn a range of procedures and methods to operationally define the behavior, collect and analyze data, understand the function that the challenging behavior serves, create and implement effective BIPs, and problem-solve challenging behavior. After each webinar, attendees will have access to an online tool kit containing strategies and resources for immediate use.
