On-Demand Webinar: Specificity About Sensitivity, Norms, and Other Psychometric Mysteries
Join us as we explore key concepts in psychometrics to better understand test interpretation, test constructs, and unveil other mysteries. This is a survey of test-development strategies and psychometric concepts critical to consider during test interpretation. Concepts covered include the test-development process; test dimensionality, reliability, and validity; standard errors of measurement (SEMs) and precision; standard and inferential/continuous norming approaches; age and grade equivalents; IRT and Rasch-based scores; and sensitivity/specificity for clinical validity studies.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this on-demand webinar, you will be able to:
- identify important choices in the test-development process, including how norming is done and how clinical validity, including sensitivity and specificity, is established.
- demonstrate why the various tables to characterize reliability and validity are in the test manual, and how to use them to judge a test.
- explain raw scores, standard scores, T-scores, percentiles, base rates, age and grade equivalents, and how and why subtests are aggregated into factors or indices.
